Project Overview

LLB Decorators Ltd was appointed to carry out a comprehensive external refurbishment of The Ship Albion, a well-known pub in Spalding. The property had become extremely tired and weathered over time, with deteriorating paintwork, damaged masonry and a general appearance that no longer reflected the character or potential of the building.

The project involved a complete programme of external refurbishment works, including extensive preparation, masonry repairs, repairs to external surfaces, painting of the building, windows and woodwork, and detailed finishing throughout. The aim was to completely transform the appearance of the property while restoring and protecting the building for years to come.

The Challenge

The Ship Albion required far more than a simple coat of paint. Years of exposure to the elements had taken their toll on the exterior, with areas of damaged and deteriorating masonry, failed paintwork and surfaces requiring significant preparation before decorating could begin.

This included the main external walls, windows, woodwork and detailed architectural features, with careful attention paid to achieving clean lines, consistent coverage and a high-quality finish throughout.

Where appropriate, professional spraying techniques were also utilised to provide an efficient and consistent finish across suitable surfaces, while detailed areas were completed by hand to ensure the highest standard of workmanship.

The Result

The completed refurbishment completely transformed the appearance of The Ship Albion. What had previously been a tired and weathered exterior was restored into a clean, smart and well-presented building that once again makes a strong impression within Spalding.
